Maggie and I have very different approaches to gardening. I purchase a relatively small variety of plants and seeds, record where they are planted in a journal, and try and rate how each variety produces. Maggie is more freeform, purchasing dozens of seed varieties, and losing track of where these seeds are planted.
This difference in approaches was evident this weekend, when I cut into a watermelon, and was surprised to see yellow. What variety? Unknown. We enjoyed the taste of this watermelon, and Maggie saved the seeds for next year. Is the envelope labeled? I did not ask, preferring to be surprised.
