Trying To Develop Sustainably Via "Reusing"

Workbench Made of Recycled Doors

While not always possible, we're trying to build out our remaining projects using recycled / repurposed items. Ed recently had a couple of "big scores" when ironing out the final touches on his "workshop / man cave".

For his work bench, Ed had me run to a nearby town to bring home 2 free doors from a home that no longer needed or wanted them; he found the doors on Craigslist... It turns out that the doors had to be trimmed back a little bit; but, they were solid / hard core doors and they worked out perfectly. The family getting rid of them even loaded my pick up truck for me. You can't beat that!

At a local "Restore", Ed also found a low but long grey metal table with a self-contained cabinet and lower shelves (depicted above behind the new to us workbench). He also found four (even though only three are depicted in the picture below) solid and folding adirondack chairs which he scooped up at the same time (they were $25 each). The chairs will allow for permanent seating around our fire pit - this is a long time coming.
