Not a Paid Advertisement - HLRBO

This is not a paid advertisement - at all. But I did list our land on HLRBO about a week ago. I listed it as a Bow Season Only Hunting Lease/License. As of today, our land is leased/licensed - full asking "price" - $2M hunters' liability insurance provided by the lessees/licensees with us as "additional insured" and "interested parties". Strong license agreement language from a risk management / liability perspective.

I couldn't be more pleased and Ed is happy too. (If anything, it makes me think I could have gotten more; but, at some point, one needs to be happy with what they've got... and we are...)

I met one of our new licensees today and we talked for quite some time after he walked the property (I set him loose with a map and some high level pieces of info). Very likeable, respectful, and honest. He and 2 others had been leasing land in a nearby county for many many years until the owner recently sold. The gentleman I talked with is from the area (his parents having had a farm in the county) and he himself doesn't live but about 1.5 hours away.

We leased / licensed our land last year for dear and turkey seasons; however, we used a company as an intermediary (Base Camp Leasing). They took 20-25% as a commission (can't recall off hand) and they charge the licensees as well (through their "membership" programs). This year, I asked for more money, shortened the term of the least (bow only), and went direct through HLRBO. Two other potential licensees contacted me around the same time as our current "tenant"; however, he was the first to come visit and we made our deal.

Like I said at the beginning, I'm not being paid to advertise for or on behalf of HLRBO; but, I couldn't be happier and things couldn't have been easier.
