Master Bedroom

Now that the kitchen is nearly done, we are turning our attention to some of the other rooms. Our next room is the master bedroom. Located on the first floor, we have used it for the past year to store the pine plank flooring. It is now time to put that flooring down in the room.

We figuratively have painted ourselves into a bit of a corner. I would usually paint the ceiling and walls first, and then put the flooring down. However, the flooring is blocking part of the room. So, we are starting from the bottom up instead of the top down. This weekend, I finished sanding off the residual padding that was under the old carpeting and that had stuck to the subfloor. I pulled stray nails and tacks out, patched the floors, and undercut the door jambs. We took the doors off for Maggie to paint. Next time, we will sweep and vacuum one more time and staple down some underlayment, and start laying planks.
