Kitchen Faucet Hooked Up - No Leaks

Pot Under Kitchen Sink Plumbing to Test for Leaks

It would have cost $400 to have the countertop installers hook up the faucet; needless to say, I did the hookup myself. Fortunately, it went fairly smoothly. I bought a standard p-trap assembly, an adapter to go from the threaded PVC fitting in the wall to a 45 degree street elbow, and a p-trap adapter. The angles and pipe lengths combined for a close but not perfect fit - the tailpiece is pulled slightly to the left. As with most plumbing projects, I placed a pot underneath my work, held my breath, and turned on the water - no leaks!

There is an extra hole in the sink / countertop that we will eventually use for filtered drinking water. Maggie has since filled the hole with a stainless plug that she found on Amazon.

The sink and faucet look amazing - you could wash a baby in that sink! It will be perfect when the time comes for canning and washing produce.
