Our farmer neighbor said that he caught pictures of bobcats on his trail camera just last week.
What?!
I knew we had cayote (I even saw one once when walking at dusk), but bobcats?! I also know there’s the potential for bear, rattlesnakes, wolves and cougar (even though the potential is less in this regard).
Because of all this, because neighbors are few and far between, and because I walk our property alone quite frequently, I want a gun.
I never had a need before; never thought I would; but now… I do want a gun for protection and just in case…
Ed says we should get a rifle (shotgun?); you need to be more intentional with a rifle. But my thought is that that’s too much for me. Ed on the other hand is worried that I’ll hurt or kill someone (myself or him included) if I get a handgun. And to his credit, I can be somewhat clumsy.
I’m not sure where this will go, but I am starting to think we need to get something. (Especially since that same farmer who told us of the bobcat sightings had a rifle in his RTV when he pulled up our driveway to say “hello” and catch up…).
