Homemade Sourdough Bread with Candied Jalapenos and Cheddar Cheese

Ed gave me an idea this weekend.


Ed wanted to make homemade bread that had chunks of discernable cheese in it along with our home canned candied jalapeno slices in it. I liked his idea but had my own"twist".


My twist was to use my homemade sourdough bread as the starting point; but, because I wanted a filling of cheese and candied jalapenos versus mixed in chunks, I thought it would be a good idea to roll/wrap the bread dough around the goodies and then seal the seams, let it all rise, and then bake it off.


We've now each made our own version of cheddar jalapeno bread. As it turns out - we're each happy with our own version... Ha! But, we both agree - it's best served warm (and melty).
