I've been wanting to start a monthly meet-up / potluck of neighbors for some time now. Today was the first gathering at our place.
There was myself and two others who are also members of the Ridge and Valley Bee Club (that's how we met); both live relatively close by in rural neighbor terms. We had lovely conversation and noodled over how to promote our gathering going forward.
I had set the table for four (versus three) because I had introduced myself to a neighbor who was sitting outside one night last week and ended up inviting her to the gathering. I had a feeling she would not attend... She was older and indicated (in a very nice way) that she didn't have a need for much by way of company / socializing... I know her husband had passed away a while ago because she said she visits his grave site daily (she lives right across the street from the little local cemetery).
