First Glimpse of Kitchen Cabinets

Updated: Sep 18, 2019

Thanks to Ed, I got my first look at some assembled kitchen cabinets. I’m going to love them!

Ed chose some of the larger and more difficult corner cabinets to assemble first (ex: he did 2 of the corner base cabinets with drawers and a couple of the upper cabinets). It turns out that there’s a bit of a learning curve, but he dove right in.

While Ed has said that he’s not willing to give rave reviews for ease of assembly and the quality of the assembly instructions, he does seem to be getting through the assembly process quicker as he moves through them. He’s also re-enforcing the assembly with Gorilla Glue and with longer screws and pegs than the ones provided.

Looking at the cabinets that are assembled though, I’m very pleased with the choice that we’ve made. They will fit right in with the farmhouse theme we’ve imagined.

Assembly may end up taking 3-4 weekends (we realistically only have Saturday as a true work day given that we arrive late on Fridays and leave to return on Sunday mornings), but that is O.K. Things never seem to go as quickly as we plan.
