One of the nice things our town offers is an open drop-off of junk in the spring and fall. The town gets a dumpster or two, and locals get to drop things off at no charge. In the spring, we brought most of the kitchen cabinets we removed, along with the old carpeting. We did not have a trailer, so it took all day to transport everything.
This October, we were fortunate to have acquired a small trailer. We were able to get everything in one load - the flooring I removed from the hallway, the last kitchen cabinet, and the old sink. As I pulled into the driveway after dropping this load, I realized I had forgotten one item: a tire-turned-planter that Maggie had emptied during the summer and wanted to get rid of. At least it fit in the trailer for a second trip.
