We are trying to be as natural as possible in our selection of finishes and materials in our farm house. (Both to avoid chemical off-gassing and to pose less of a fire hazard (natural materials do not burn nearly as readily nor as hot as the synthetic materials out there).)
I found some relatively inexpensive and 100% cotton rugs online. Attached is a sample of what we'll be using in our main level living spaces.
I'm hopeful that the darker and varied coloring will help to hide dirt / possible stains (we plan on having more large dogs once we move into the property and based on experience, we can testify that dogs track in dirt).
...We do still need to install baseboards... I'm in the process of painting the old ones white...
