I’m so thankful that there’s still an old-time mercantile store like Lehman’s Hardware Store.
Lehman’s offers retail in Ohio's Amish Country at their Kidron Road, Dalton, OH store; its been family-owned and operated since 1955. For those who are not local to Ohio (like me), they have a print catalog and a website to give access to hundreds of practical goods, from planting and preserving to off-grid living. They were even voted the best place to visit in Amish Country! There isn’t a similar store anywhere else that I have found. They say they exist to create a simpler life.
While I don’t live in Ohio, I would like to make it there someday (sort of a mini educational vacation) to look at and touch / feel everything they’ve got for inventory. Luckily, I won’t have to wait to start shopping there because of their very well-curated website store; it is very expansive and very nicely laid out.
Many of the ideas I’ve gotten for my backup systems I’ve found on Lehman’s website. They will be my retailer of choice as we slowly begin to build out our property (so long as we’re still able to access the internet😊).
