Backup Systems to Allow for Off-Grid Laundry

In terms of off-grid laundry back-up goes - I think I’ve got this one covered. Regardless of being on or off grid, I eventually plan on hanging my laundry to dry outside during the summertime and in the basement during the winter. The clothes lines are already in place at our property (we inherited them) and I’ve purchased some heavier duty metal lines and ratcheting mechanisms from Amazon for when things really get serious for me on the laundry front.

I’ve also purchased a manual “washing stick” / “mobile washer” from Amazon (I specifically purchased the “EasyGoProducts Hand Powered Clothes Washing Wand, Blue”). It is essentially a plunger with holes at the top so that water gets through as you plunge your clothes. This one truly is an “off-grid backup” alternative. I figure that in a worst-case scenario, if my washing machine isn’t working, I can fill the bathtub with water and plunge the clothes clean there or use a 5-gallon bucket.

I will eventually need to purchase a manual laundry wringer (like the kind my grandmother used to use) or a large / commercial and manual “salad spinner” that they even make and market for laundry now (I have my eye on the “Choice 5 Gallon Salad Spinner / Dryer” from “WebstaurantStore.com” online.
